I changed my name from Yaakov HaMizrachi (Yaakov the Easterner) to Yaakov HaMagid (Yaakov the storyteller) at my elevation. My Laurel was Mistress Dorigen of the Grey Gate (East Kingdom).
My general areas of interest are storytelling, poetry and the performing arts generally. I also study period Jewish culture and Jewish astrology. My specialty is Middle Eastern storytelling.
My current project is the translation of traditional midrash and aggaditah for SCA storytelling. Midrash are legends associated with the Bible stories. Aggaditah are legends associated with the Rabbis of the Talmudic period.
